Heeyy, lovely people! How's everyone doing? :> December (and winter) came so ridiculously fast that it felt like a transition in a cartoon when the sun rises and there's suddenly 10 feet of snow on the ground, haha. Basically, it got real cold real fast. I've been doing my best to avoid the great outdoors, but there's always the four minutes of my day when I run to and from the car and in and out of school. In my defense, summer was pretty cold, so I've been hoping for a mild winter. Then again, this is Minnesota, so that's rather wishful thinking.

I love the holiday season. It leads to thoughts, changes, reflections; most importantly, giving. Just today, I was graced with a beautiful artwork by *Niraven of Miss Nadia, and I really appreciate it. Check it out here! [link]
I'm at this point in life where I don't really need any more material things to shove into a dusty corner. I think that if you have friends, a place to live, a few things to call your own, and a loving family, you don't need much else. Things like Tawny's gift are what really revitalize a person, and I know I will treasure that much longer than most of the junk people buy each other.
I don't know. XD I think maybe I'm spending too much time around old, wise people (and "successful" yuppies).

Something that always throws me off guard is just how fast time moves. [Maybe time is always late, and it needs to catch up to itself?] Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday (don't get me started), and soon Christmas. Wow. If we in the Northern Hemisphere are lucky, the more agonizing months of winter will go just as quickly as these few have.
I don't suppose I've been up to much. Knowledge Bowl [see also: my passion] has started up again, and I've got a good feeling about this season. Even when we don't do well, it's just fun to spend a day with people who are as nerdy as I am. ;D The play went well. Going back even further, Halloween was a blast. I was a pirate, which did not seem to surprise anyone. Trick-or-treating has no age limit in my mind.

Lately, there has been a perpetual swirling storm of ideas and inspiration in my cloudy little brain. I'm going to blame that on Harry Potter. [I'm chugging along on rereading the books, and they are the most awesomely engrossing things. I am not worthy.] I also had the privilege of watching The Shawshank Redemption, perhaps one of the greatest movies of all time. OF ALL TIME. /Kanye West

Wishing you a soft blanket, a warm beverage, and a good book during these chilly times,
Gretta :> ♥

Which is also known as the greatest day of the year. Why, you may ask? Well because it's Howl At the Moon Night of course!

. . .

While the above is true, and I did participate, that's not why I'm excited. Today is/was/shall be for another 42 minutes my birthday! Don't worry, this isn't like every other journal fishing for kudos or favors, so you can unclench your jaw now, haha.

Huzzah, 16 years! I'm at this strange intersection of childhood and holy-halibut-I'm-old. It always boggles my mind how time works. I cannot possibly hope to fathom its mysterious inner workings. Like how the worst times in our lives can seem to drag on endlessly and yet here we are. Just keep moving and everything will be alright.

What else can I say? I love living, and I'm really thankful for the great people I've been blessed with knowing over the years. ♥

Holy Autumn, Batman!

Edit: In case you're curious, here's where ~LuverzNDFriendz and I are at. :>

First thing - we have a title! [!!!] Our comic is called Volition, which means "the act of choosing."

Perhaps even more important than that: Thanks to your input, which we reeeeally appreciated, our comic is not going to involved with The Dark Knight.
When we started forming the first ideas last summer, the purpose of this project was vastly different from what it is now. The more we thought about it, the more tempting it was to write off Nolanverse. After a few weeks filled with raging infernos of internal debate, we made the tough decision to jump into that unknown void of (Actually) Original Characters.

What this means? We're going to have a lot more freedom and creative space to breathe. Ultimately, I think we made the right choice. And hopefully we'll get started very soon. :>

So that's what we've been up to this summer. Look for it this fall!

-----

Heeeyyy, people. I come bearing a single question.

Would you read our comic even if it was not fandom-based?
Yes/No

And this, of course, is strictly hypothetical. ;D
I'd love your honest answers. Gogogo!

Clouds that Fly

Wed Aug 12, 2009, 11:54 PM
It's late, and I should probably get some sleep, so this is going to be short and sweet, as well as lacking in any structure whatsoever. Yay!

I stored most of my gallery about a week ago. I've become increasingly annoyed with this website, and felt like some stuff was weighing me down. I'm not sure what I want to be known for art-wise, but I don't think it includes fanart or icons. I really do appreciate all the faves you've given me over the years [wow]. For now it's gonna stay hidden, but maybe I'll have a change of heart. I'm going through ~amordi withdrawal, and it sucks. [I'm craving some old-school OtO so bad. ;_;] Therefore, I won't get rid of everything. ;D

The only other thing I'm going to say art-wise is that JS is in the midst of some epic conceptual styling. Yep.

~

Umm, other news. Hmm. Well, I guess it's August. Makes me want to cry. It's been cold all summer, though, so maybe the transition won't be as painful this year.
Some fun facts:
The Twins are kind of sucking lately, but being at the Dome is great. The KGB-esque security guards will make your beach balls disappear.
Tubing is an extreme sport that may cause your arms to feel like lead bricks. [This is spoken from experience.]
Antique shops are the coolest places in the world, as are creepy old-fashioned book stores that do leather binding.
There's a place called Flying Cloud Drive, and I think that's bloody hilarious.

TL;DR: The hiatus continues!

Last day of play is tomorrow! I'm so looking forward to it being done. It's been great, though. Drama kids are some of the most fun people you'll ever meet.

I've been floating around this site from time to time. I went on a huuuge fave spree today. But I might take a little break; store my gallery maybe. That's not a definite. I'm just thinking. Summer's good for that, you know.
